Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Samuel 12:20
So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.
Failure is a part of life… people fail because of many reasons, many times they bring it upon themselves, but, whatever the reason, failure should never be the end… it should always be a launching pad to a new beginning.
David and Bathsheba’s child became sick… David fasted, prayed, wept and pleaded with the Lord, but the child still died. David could have gotten angry at God, he could have beaten himself up because of what he did, but after the child passed, David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and
worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.
Whatever your failure may be, there is a time to put it behind you… to forget the things that are behind, to wash your face, to anoint yourself, to put on some clean clothes, to worship the Lord and to have a nice warm meal, and then… to move on!
There may come a time for you to evaluate the mistakes and the failures of the past if the Spirit leads… but, until then, pick yourself up, shake the dust off, and live!
Blessings on you, Nick
