Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 96:9
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.
The word translated as ‘tremble’ is the Hebrew word ‘חוּל’ (chûwl) which can also be translated ‘dance’, or ‘whirl about’, or ‘twist’ – So the Hebrew words create a picture of a worshipper trembling, dancing, whirling about and ‘doing the twist’ in exuberant, expressive, heartfelt, joyous, reverent worship.
The Lord describes this heartfelt worship as ‘worshipping in the beauty of holiness’.
Take some time today and worship the Lord with all of your heart… dance before the Lord, whirl about as you dance in exuberant, expressive, heartfelt, joyous, reverent worship. Soon you will be shaking and trembling under His power as you are overtaken and enveloped by the glory of the Lord!
