Today’s New Covenant nugget is from James 5:16
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
As the righteousness of God in Christ, believers can expect results when they pray effectively. There are several effective New Covenant prayers - here are two…
Praying in the Spirit…
The bible says that when someone speaks in tongues, no one understands a word he says, because he’s not speaking to people, but to God—he is speaking intimate mysteries in the Spirit. - 1 Corinthians 14:2 (TPT) When we pray in the Spirit, we pray upon our most holy faith(Jude 20:20)… in other words, when we pray in the Spirit we are praying the perfect will of God on the highest level of faith to God in a mystery (the devil cannot understand what we are saying, so he cannot interfere, we do not understand what we are saying, so our lack of understanding the will of God cannot hinder, and we are praying on the highest level of faith, for maximum results.
The prayer of faith…
James 1:6-7 says that when we pray, ask or make petitions, that we have to do it in faith… ‘But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.’
The opposite is true… when we pray in faith according to the Word, we can expect to receive EVERYTHING we ask for from the Lord.
The prayer of faith is calling those things that be not as though they were – everything that is not in line with the Word can be commanded to line up with the Word. In Mark 11:22-24 Jesus teaches the prayer of faith – He says, “have the faith of God and operate in the same faith that God operates in - I say to you, this is how you operate in faith… whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you require faith when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
The prayer of faith speaks to things and requires them to come in line with the Word. Jesus said that if you pray this way, you must believe that you receive ‘when you pray’ (not later)… believe you receive when you pray, and you shall have what you prayed for… you shall have what you say in faith!
Praying in the Spirit and praying in faith, in the Name of Jesus will prove to be very effective! Praying this way will avail much!
Blessings on you, Nick
