Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Ephesians 1:17-18 (TPT)
I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know Him through your deepening intimacy with Him. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of His calling…
Revelation comes before operation – in other words, we need to have our spiritual eyes opened to receive revelation and understanding concerning the Word, who we are in Christ, Who Christ is in us and how He wants to operate through us before we can fully receive and appropriate His promises.
A believer can have academic head knowledge and limited understanding about something, but when that believer gets divine revelation, everything changes – let me give you an example… I have understood the doctrine of New Covenant grace for many years now, but about seven years ago, I received true ‘REVELATION’ on grace that forever changed my life. The Lord flooded my spirit with fresh revelation and understanding… my mind was renewed and I was transformed from glory to glory with that one revelation – I will never be the same – I will never read my bible the same way again, and I will never teach the Word in the way that I did before my revelation.
My spiritual identity is based upon the revelations that the Lord has imparted to me through His Word – His revelation to me on New Covenant faith, on reigning with Christ as kings and priests through declaration, on the New Covenant in Christ for today vs the Old Covenant, on transformation through the renewing of the mind, on Who He is, His personality, His values, His ways and His heart – I have received life transforming revelations on these and on many, many other things…
All of those revelations have changed who I am permanently and have transformed me to be more like Jesus. I encourage you to seek the Lord and to ask Him to open your spiritual eyes and to impart fresh revelation to you concerning the truth in His Word – that revelation will define your calling and the level in which you operate within His calling – revelation has to come before operation!
Blessings on you, Nick
