Today’s devotion comes from James 1:5 (TPT)
And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and He will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with His generous grace.
The Greek word translated ‘wisdom’ is ‘sophía’ - the Strongs Concordance defines it this way…
*Wisdom, broad and full of intelligence; used of the knowledge of very diverse matters
*Skill in the management of affairs
*Devout and proper prudence, skill and discretion in imparting Christian truth
*The knowledge and practice of the requisites for godly and upright living
*Supreme intelligence, such as belongs to God
*The wisdom of God as evinced in forming and executing counsels in the formation and government of the world and the scriptures
The way that I define wisdom is that it is the ability acquire truth and to apply truth in the most effective way…
‘Wisdom finds the answer, and then applies it in a way that brings the intended results.’
The ‘gift of wisdom’ gives us this ability supernaturally by way of impartation. How many times do believers find themselves in a predicament where they do not know what to do? I find myself in a place of not having a clue many times every day! As soon as you come to a place of ‘not knowing,’ ask the Father for wisdom! Do not try to resolve things according to your own ability, ask for wisdom!
Say, “Father, I receive supernatural wisdom, right now, in Jesus Name! According to James 1:5 I receive Your wisdom NOW according to Your generous grace! I declare and I decree by faith that I know what to do and that I know how to do it – what I do will be successful as I do it according Your imparted wisdom, in Jesus Name!”
Supernatural, divine wisdom is available to you right now, receive it by faith, and as you apply it, stand amazed and get ready to give God glory! Breakthrough is at hand!
Make this confession of faith - say this out loud with me…
“John 17:17 says that I am sanctified and set apart by Your truth - Your Word is truth - Your Word absolute truth – the Word is for me to walk in, to accept as final truth and for me to stand on, to declare by faith and for me to do – I am who the Word says that I am - I can do what the Word says I can do - I can be who the Word says I can be - Christ in me can do all things – I can do all things through Christ - I have absolute POWER over ALL the Work of the enemy – nothing shall by any means harm me – I have power to raise the dead – I have power to heal the sick – I have power to do the works of Jesus – I have total authority over all of the works of His hands in Jesus Name! – the power and the authority of the creator of all things is on the inside of me – when I speak by faith, I ALWAYS have what I say – As I speak the Word, the Father ALWAYS watches over it to perform it – The Father loves it when I expect Him to ALWAYS perform His EVERY Word! – I always expect the Father to bring to pass every word that I speak according to His Word – God is not a man that He should lie – His Word is literal, His Word is truth and His Word is final!”
