Today’s devotion is from John 4:23-24
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
This scripture always reminds me of my friend Norvel Hayes – he would always say, “You have to ‘woship’ the Lord, ‘woship’ the Lord” in his unique accent… he would go down on his knees, raise his hands and with eyes closed inter into sincere heartfelt worship.
He prioritized worshipping the Lord and his life was blessed beyond measure. As we worship the Father in Spirit and truth, we are transformed into His image from glory to glory – you always become what you worship.
David worshipped the Lord and the Lord found him as a young shepherd boy, anointed him as king and raised him up as a mighty man of God. The Father ‘seeks’ out those who worship Him – He said of David, “I ‘found’ a man after my heart” – a true worshipper is continually perusing the Father’s heart! Pursue His heart today with your worship and He will find you, raise you up and bless you!
