Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Ephesians 3:2
If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God (the season of unmerited favor) which was given to me for you
Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me… to proclaim the year [season] of the Lord’s favor [grace and approval.]” (Luke 4:18-19)
The Greek word used or favor is, ‘dektós’ the Strong’s concordance says that ‘dektós’ denotes that most blessed time when ‘salvation’ (prosperity, health, success, and blessings beyond measure) and the free favors of God profusely abound.
We are in a season of grace, favor and approval in Christ.
Jesus said that He was anointed to proclaim, and to establish a decree that He was going to usher in a season of favor, grace, approval and acceptance. In many translations, the Greek word that is translated, ‘year’ is accurately translated ‘season’ a ‘cycle of time,’ or a seasonal ‘dispensation,’ not specifically a calendar year. Jesus was proclaiming a season, a dispensation, or a cycle of time of grace, favor and approval in Him. Jesus was anointed to establish a New Covenant of grace.
We are now living in the season of favor, grace and approval that Jesus proclaimed under the anointing.
The Bible says that The Father predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of HIS GRACE, by which He made us ACCEPTED in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His GRACE. (Ephesians 1:5-7)
Jesus has given every believer a gift of unmerited favor, grace and approval. This is a gift based on what Jesus has done and is not based on our performance. This means that as flawed as we were outside of Christ, we are now made perfect in Him. Because you are acceptable, perfect and righteous in Christ, you now can and should walk in HIS anointing, in HIS power, in HIS favor and in HIS blessings. Jesus freely gave us what we could NEVER earn or deserve. Take advantage of this to the fullest… this is our season!
