The power of God is an essential part of the gospel and the New Covenant…
Without the power of God we would not be saved, we would not be transformed and we would not be able to fulfill our destiny in Christ. The bible says that in the last days that there would be so called believers who would have a form of godliness, but would deny and reject the power of God, then it goes on to say, “Stay away from people like that!”
The word that is most commonly translated as ‘power’ is the Greek word ‘Dü’nämes’ – it literally means, ‘miracle working power of God’. God wants us as His New Covenant believers to be full and overflowing with His miracle working power!
Lets look at some scriptures…
Luke 24:49 (TPT) - And I will send the fulfillment of the Father’s promise to you. So stay here in the city until [Dü’nämes] the mighty power of heaven falls upon you and wraps around you.
Ephesians 3:16 - That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might [dü’nämes] through His Spirit in the inner man
Ephesians 3:16 (TPT) - And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with [dü’nämes] His divine might and explosive power.
Ephesians 3:20 (TPT) - Never doubt God’s [dü’nämes] mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you.
2 Peter 1:3 - His [dü’nämes] divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue
HOW TO RECEIVE THE POWER OF GOD…
The first and most important way to receive the miracle working power of God is through the baptism of the Holy Spirit…
The bible says in Acts 1:8 that you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses… The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the doorway to all miracle working power and it has been given as a promise to all generations. (Acts 2:39) When a believer receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit, they are supernaturally given the ability to speak in tongues. The bible says that speaking in tongues edifies the believer or builds them up in power.
Speaking in tongues is speaking in a Heavenly language. Your spirit speaks directly to the Father on the highest level of faith. Speaking the Word on that level of faith releases miracle working power in the believer’s life.
The second way to receive power is by the laying on of hands…
Acts 8:17 says, ‘As soon as Peter and John arrived, they laid their hands on the Samaritan believers, one after another, and the Holy Spirit fell and filled each one of them!’ (Acts 8:17-TPT)
The third way to receive the power of God is to receive through faith…
Through our words of faith – “Father, I receive your miracle working power right now, in Jesus Name! I release your power to work in and through me now, in Jesus Name!”
Through our actions of Faith – Just like the woman with the issue of blood withdrew virtue from Jesus by touching the hem of His garment, whenever you are in the presence of Jesus, believe you receive power – reach out by faith and you the Lord and receive power. When you are in an atmosphere of His glory and anointing, make continual withdrawals by faith!
HOW TO OPERATE IN THE POWER OF GOD
Once you have received miracle-working power, begin to walk in it and operate by it! Receive and then release the miracle working power of God by faith and in Jesus Name! Release it into your circumstances, into atmospheres, onto your money, onto your relationships – release it over your day before you walk out the door and then continually release it by faith wherever you go!
