Today’s devotion is from Titus 2:11-12 (TPT)
God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age.
New Covenant grace teaches us and equips us…
New Covenant grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age.
Some people wrongly think that New Covenant grace is a license to sin. It is exactly the opposite; New Covenant grace destroys sin’s dominion and power over us. It equips us as believers to live holy, godly, self controlled, upright lives. New Covenant grace is unmerited favor toward the Father restored and as that favor is restored sin can no longer have dominion over us.
Not only does grace destroy sin’s power and teach us how to live Holy lives, it brings ‘salvation’. The word used, translated as salvation is ‘sozo’; literally meaning healing, deliverance and prosperity… sozo includes every blessing from the Lord. Grace brings sozo… it gives us access to our inheritance in Christ as well as everything that we need for life and godliness.
Thank God for His unmerited gift of abundant grace in Christ – Selah!
