Today’s devotion is from Genesis 3:1 (AMP)

Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And the serpent (Satan) said to the woman, “Can it really be that God has said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?”

The devil is still using his number one strategy against God’s people…

To create doubt and to get us to second-guess God’s Word. Satan created doubt in the minds of Adam and Eve by questioning God’s Word… “Has God really said?” if the devil can get us to doubt the promises of God for us in our New Covenant in Christ, he can steal what is rightfully ours. We have to know our covenant with the Lord and we have to be fully convinced that God will do what He has promised.

Romans 4:19-21

And not being weak in faith, Abraham did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

Abraham was FULLY CONVINCED that God would do what He had promised. He did not CONSIDER circumstances and he did not second-guess the Word of the Lord. He knew what the Lord had promised and he took his covenant with the Lord literally. If the devil can get us to doubt the Word of the Lord, he can steal our promise from us just like he did to Adam and Eve. Instead, like Abraham, be strengthened in faith and remain fully convinced that no matter how things look on the outside and no matter how long things are taking… our faithful, powerful God will perform what He has promised.

The Word says in James 1:6-8 that when we are believing to receive something from the Lord that we should ask Him in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts [second guesses] is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind…. Then it goes on to say, ‘For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.’

The Passion Translation says, ‘Make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person [having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas] believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. When you are half-hearted and wavering it leaves you unstable. Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition?

Are you fully convinced concerning your New Covenant in Christ?

Are you fully persuaded that by the stripes of Jesus you have been healed – no matter how you feel?

Are you fully convinced that as a New Covenant believer ALL things are working together for your good - no matter how circumstances look?

Are you fully persuaded that it is ALWAYS God’s will for you to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers?

Are you fully convinced that the Lord has already given you all things pertaining to life and godliness?

Are you fully persuaded that you and your WHOLE household shall be saved?

Family, we have to meditate upon the Word until our minds are renewed, we have to speak the Word until it becomes real to us, we have to sit under the preaching of the Word until it is branded onto our hearts and we have to do whatever it takes to know our covenant and to be fully convinced that every promise is ours and that what He had promised He was also able to perform – Do not be double minded concerning the promises of God – do not let the devil talk you out of receiving God’s best… so, the next time the devil says to you, “Has God REALLY said?”, the just answer him by saying, “Yes, he REALLY said…” and then begin to declare the promises of God to you until you have what He says you have, in Jesus Name!
