Today’s devotion is from Mark 10:29-30 (TPT)
“Listen to my words… Anyone who leaves his home behind and chooses me over children, parents, family, and possessions, all for the sake of the gospel, it will come back to him a hundred times as much in this lifetime—homes, family, mothers, brothers, sisters, children, possessions—along with persecutions. And in the age to come, he will inherit eternal life.”
TESTS, TRIALS AND CHALLENGES ARE A SIGNAL TO BELIEVERS THAT PROMOTION IS ON IT’S WAY…
RUN TO THE BATTLE, NOT AWAY FROM IT!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO RUN TO THE BATTLE?
Let’s look at the story of Abraham, when the Lord told him to sacrifice Isaac…
Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. (Genesis 22:2-3)
Abraham rose early and ran to the biggest test of faith in his life… he did not procrastinate, he did not run away, he got excited, he rose EARLY and even though he did not understand God’s command, he knew the God that he served… he trusted his God and he knew that somehow his test was going to end up becoming a testimony.
Abraham waited 25 years to receive God’s promise. Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born… now The Lord tells him to sacrifice his beloved son. I am sure that Abraham’s flesh was panicking, questioning and very challenged, but because Abraham knew the Lord, He knew that he was about to be promoted and not defeated. We all know what happened, God provided another sacrifice, and because Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only begotten son, that opened the door for the Father to give His only begotten son for all humanity.
When you know God, you run to your battles, tests and trials and not away from them, knowing that all things work together for good in Christ and that victory is assured and that every time of proving and persecution is a sure sign that promotion is on it’s way!
Jesus said in Mark 10:29-30 (TPT) “Listen to my words… Anyone who leaves his home behind and chooses me over children, parents, family, and possessions, all for the sake of the gospel, it will come back to him a hundred times as much in this lifetime—homes, family, mothers, brothers, sisters, children, possessions—along with persecutions. And in the age to come, he will inherit eternal life.”
Increase is always accompanied by challenges, tests or persecution, but do not fret, the challenge you are facing right now will become the pathway to your blessing. The wind in your face will lift you, not break you, by the power of the Spirit, like an eagle, you will soar on wings of eagles and the harder the winds of challenge blow, the higher you will go!
1 Peter 4:12 (TPT)
Beloved friends, if life gets extremely difficult, with many tests, don’t be bewildered as though something strange were overwhelming you.
STORY OF DANIEL AND THE LIONS DEN
As a slave in the Babylonian empire, Daniel walked in unprecedented favor. This favor led him to promotion after promotion… with persecution and trials, yet he remained faithful.
By the favor of God, Daniel was appointed as a governor along with 2 others to oversee leaders that would lead 120 provinces.
Because of God’s favor on his life it wasn’t long before the king decided to promote Daniel over the other two governors to oversee the whole kingdom. The other 2 governors got jealous and in a plot to kill Daniel advised the king to establish a law that for one month people were only allowed to pray to and worship him and that any violators of the law would be cast into the lion’s den.
Daniel prayed with his windows open to God. He ran to the battle, not away from it because he knew his God. He was arrested, charged and thrown into a den of hungry lions, but supernaturally protected by an angel… his accusers were then thrown into the den by order of the king and were devoured. Daniel was promoted to oversee the whole kingdom…
Whatever you are facing today, let me remind you… you know your God, He is good and He is for you and not against you and nothing shall by any means harm you!
RUN TO THE BATTLE, YOUR PROMOTION IS AT HAND…
