Today’s devotion is from Romans 12:18

If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Living peaceably with all people is not always possible because some people have never lived in peace a day in their lives… all they know is strife and fighting. They have yielded themselves to restless warring spirits of strife, anger, judgment and pride. They cannot peaceably cohabitate with anyone and they need deliverance together with the grace and love of Jesus.

Those people aside… as much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Living peaceably with others is the will of God for your life. It take a lot of humility and grace, but it is totally possible. You will not always agree with everybody, but you do not have to let that disagreement be a bone of contention. Do not impose your way on others and try to control them, instead pray for them, love on them and let the Lord lead them to walk in the way that they should go. Most fighting and strife occurs when people try to control or change one another. Give the people in your life the right to decide for themselves… they are going to do it anyway.

Proverbs 15:1-2 says that a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.

The Passion Translation says, ‘Respond gently when you are confronted and you’ll defuse the rage of another.Responding with sharp, cutting words will only make it worse.’
