Today’s devotion comes from Acts 20:32
‘So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.’
The Passion Translation says, ‘And so now, I entrust you into God’s hands and the message of His grace, which is all that you need to become strong. All of God’s blessings are imparted through the message of His grace…’
The Word of His grace, or the message of His grace has been entrusted to us as ministers and witnesses in the New Covenant. A lot of people have come against it calling it greasy grace, hyper grace or other slanderous names. I acknowledge that there are some who preach a message of unbiblical grace that leads to sin and compromise, but this is the case with everything that God births. There have been people who have taught error in the message of Pentecost, the message of faith, confession, prosperity, healing and in the manifestations of the Spirit. The devil will always try to raise up a counterfeit to every truth that the Lord brings.
If we spend all of our time focusing on unbiblical counterfeits, we can be robbed of the power of the real message of God. I know several people that refuse to teach on grace, unless it is, or includes a critical rebuke on unscriptural grace… we are called to bring the good news of the Gospel and to be lights, not to be constantly focusing on what the devil is up to in the realm of darkness. This is the era of the New Covenant of grace and every believer should be preaching the truth of New Covenant grace in Christ…
Romans 6:14 says, ‘Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.’ The Passion Translation says, ‘Remember this: sin will not conquer you, for God already has! You are not governed by law but governed by the reign of the grace of God.’ Biblical New Covenant grace builds you up, it leads to holiness and freedom from sin, and our inheritance in Christ as well as all of God’s blessings are imparted through the message of His grace -Selah
