Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 Corinthians 11:29–30

For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

The Holy Spirit gives us the reason as well as the solution as to why some Christians are weak and sick, and die young - He also teaches us how to live a healthy, strong, long life... it is very clearly explained that the one reason some Christians are weak and sick, and die prematurely, is that they don’t take advantage of discerning the Lord’s body when they partake of the Holy Communion.

You can stay healthy and strong, and you can live long and look way younger than you are by being led by the Spirit, by living by faith, by speaking the Word over your life, and very importantly, by receiving Holy Communion every day. Today I want to talk about taking advantage of the healing, youth renewing, health imparting anointing in discerning the Lord’s body in Holy Communion accurately.

Many believers do not ‘discern’ that the unleavened broken bread represents the Lord’s body… they do not discern, and they do not have a revelation that His body was broken, so that their bodies would be whole, and they do not discern that when they receive His broken body in Holy Communion, healing and wholeness is released to be received by them as they partake by faith. When believers partake without discerning this truth, they partake in an unworthy manner. The reverse is true: If they accurately discern the Lord’s body when partaking of communion, then they will be strong and healthy, and live long.

What about the judgment of God referred to in 1 Corinthians verse 29-32?

‘For he who eats and in an unworthy manner eats and drinks ‘judgment’ to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would ‘judge’ ourselves, we would not be ‘judged’. But when we are ‘judged’, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.’

Firstly, in verse 29, it talks about eating and drinking ‘judgment’ to ourselves, not discerning the Lord’s body…

The Greek word used here is ‘krē'mä’, literally meaning ‘condemnation’ – in other words, lack of discernment, or lack of revelation about what Jesus did on the cross results in walking in self-condemnation… “well, I must be sick because I have sinned… I must be sick because I don’t have enough faith”… Discerning the Lord’s body and a revelation of the New Covenant in Christ destroys that condemnation and causes us to walk in all that Jesus did on Calvary… that healing was fully provided for and that as the righteousness of God in Christ, we fully qualify to receive that healing.

Next it says, ‘if we would ‘judge’ ourselves, we will not be ‘judged’’…

The Greek word used for, ‘if we would ‘judge’ ourselves is ‘diakrino’ literally meaning to ‘make a distinction or to prefer ourselves’. Next, when it says, ‘we will not be judged’ - the Greek word is ‘krino’, literally meaning, ‘to be called into a court for questioning under the law’ – so, what scripture is literally saying is that if we discern, that because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, that in Christ we are in a place of preference, that there is a ‘distinction’ between us and the unsaved… as we discern that when we partake of communion, as we discern what Jesus did for us, and as we receive that… we will avoid being called into court for questioning under the Law. Discerning the body of Christ leads to bypassing responsibility and accountability under the Law.

Jesus showed up, gave an account, payed the price, redeemed us and qualified us before the Father under the Law - then He established a New Covenant in which every believer in Christ is the righteousness of God in Christ and is fully qualified to receive health, strength and long life through His Covenant.

Next, it goes on to say, ‘But when we are ‘judged’, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.’

The Greek word used here for ‘Judged’ is also ‘krino’, literally meaning, ‘to be called into a court for questioning under the law’ – so, what scripture is saying is that if you do not discern the Lord’s body, or if you do not have a revelation concerning what the Lord did on Calvary, that you will be called into the court of judgment for questioning by the Lord, and that you will be ‘chastened’ or, ‘disciplined’ by the Lord.

How does the Lord discipline us? - Through His Word…

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, ‘All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMP)

The Lord brings believers who do not discern the Lord’s body while partaking of communion into His presence, and He disciplines them in His presence with His Word until they get discernment and revelation, so that they too can receive healing, wellness and long life as they partake of His Covenant through Holy Communion.

The only reason specifically given in scripture for believers being weak and sick among us, and many dying prematurely, is that they do not ‘discern’ the Lord’s body while receiving Holy Communion – uninformed, non discerning, blind or deceived believers do not discern, and therefor do not receive the healing, the wholeness, the strength of the longevity provided through partaking of the broken body of Jesus through Holy Communion – they partake ritualistically, or religiously without faith and without receiving what Jesus has freely given – as a result, many needlessly die prematurely, many are needlessly sick and many are unnecessarily weak, when they could be strong and healthy.

So it is not a matter of whether you are worthy or unworthy to partake, but how you partake. Come to the Lord’s table with boldness and partake because Jesus has qualified you with His precious blood. Don’t treat it as a ritual, but release your faith for health and healing as you discern that Jesus’ body was broken so that yours can be healthy and whole today. When you partake like this, you are partaking in a worthy manner, and you will not be weak or sickly, or die prematurely!

Partake of Holy Communion every day by faith, discerning the Lord’s body and remain healthy, fit and vibrant year after year – avoid cancer as well as other life threatening diseases and walk in health and strength and renew your youth daily, in Jesus Name!

Be blessed and live in health, Nick
