Dont give uo.jpg

Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Romans 12:11-13 (TPT)

Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him. Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times. Take a constant interest in the needs of God’s beloved people and respond by helping them. And eagerly welcome people as guests into your home.

Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times…

The devil knows that he cannot harm us or defeat us, so his only strategy is to deceive us into thinking that giving up is the only solution. Now, it is one thing to let go of something, as led by the Spirit, but it is a totally different thing to walk away from something because of circumstances, lack of finances, or because we feel defeated or see no way out.

If we give up, give in or surrender to pressure from the outside, we will never do much in this life. The devil knows how to deceive, how to put on pressure, and how to bombard our minds with fiery arrows of fear, doubt, hopelessness and frustration, but that is all that he can do. Know that the devil cannot harm or defeat you as a child of God – all that he has is the power of suggestion.

If you are being bombarded with thoughts of doubt, fear, worry, and thoughts of giving up… if circumstances, pressure, and finances that try to dictate that giving up is the only solution, then you can know for a fact that God is not leading you to give up or to make any changes. I know that my statement is very strong, but God NEVER leads through pressure or lack… the Lord leads by His Spirit and by His Word, and His leading is always evidenced by faith, peace, joy, triumph and a clear vision for the future.

I love what the Word says, “Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times” – When the devil and circumstances are shouting, “GIVE UP!” – instead of bowing to pressure, commune with God! Pray in the Spirit and with your understanding – pray and commune with the Lord until you receive the mind of Christ. Do not move or change a thing unless you have been ‘clearly led’ by the Spirit.

Have a blessed day, Nick
