How many believers have accepted the Lord as Savior, but then go on to shut Him out when it comes to the daily affairs of life. The Lord does not want to be on the outside, knocking to come in, He wants to be involved in every aspect of life.
Ephesians 4:27 admonishes us not to give place to the devil… The devil is also knocking at our door – The Passion Translation says it this way, ‘Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!’ Do not open the door to him and his temptations, open the door to the Holy Spirit and His promptings.
Opening your heart’s door usually happens very fast – something unexpected happens, and before you know it, you have opened your heart’s door. The truth is that most people open the door to the voice that they are most familiar with. If you walk in the flesh and are continually in a world of video games, social media, television and things that stimulate your flesh, then you are very familiar with the devil’s voice – if, on the other hand, you spend most of your time with the mind of Christ, walking in the Spirit, keeping your thoughts on the things listed in Philippians 4:8, praying in the Spirit and feeding on the Word, then you will be very familiar with the voice of the Lord.
A flesh driven, fleshly minded believer continually gives place to the devil – a believer who is led by the Spirit with the mind of Christ who walks in the Spirit continually gives place to the Lord. The one that you open the door to will be the one who brings his stuff with Him… The devil will bring fear, condemnation, temptation, defeat, depression, anxiety, fear and basically, everything that kills, steals and destroys – The Lord will bring peace. Joy, grace, love, health, wealth, life more abundantly and basically everything that blesses, builds and gives life.
Give place to Jesus today, give place to the Word, and give place to promptings and the leading of the Spirit – He will lead you to victory, abundance and He will satisfy your life like no other!
Make this confession of faith - say this out loud with me…
“John 17:17 says that I am sanctified and set apart by Your truth - Your Word is truth - Your Word absolute truth – the Word is for me to walk in, to accept as final truth and for me to stand on, to declare by faith and for me to do – I am who the Word says that I am - I can do what the Word says I can do - I can be who the Word says I can be - Christ in me can do all things – I can do all things through Christ - I have absolute POWER over ALL the Work of the enemy – nothing shall by any means harm me – I have power to raise the dead – I have power to heal the sick – I have power to do the works of Jesus – I have total authority over all of the works of His hands in Jesus Name! – the power and the authority of the creator of all things is on the inside of me – when I speak by faith, I ALWAYS have what I say – As I speak the Word, the Father ALWAYS watches over it to perform it – The Father loves it when I expect Him to ALWAYS perform His EVERY Word! – I always expect the Father to bring to pass every word that I speak according to His Word – God is not a man that He should lie – His Word is literal, His Word is truth and His Word is final!”
