Today’s devotion is from Hebrews 9:15
'He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.'
The passion translation says, ‘Jesus is the One who has enacted a new covenant with a new relationship with God so that those who accept the invitation will receive the eternal inheritance he has promised to his heirs.’
The Bible tells us that the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:16-17)
Paul prays a prayer for the church of Ephesus concerning their inheritance…
‘I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; THAT YOU MAY KNOW what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of HIS INHERITANCE in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.’ (Ephesians 1:16-19)
You have an eternal inheritance… Jesus died and left you with a powerful, glorious inheritance! Pray and ask the lord today to give you revelation knowledge and to open your spiritual eyes to see and to know what your inheritance in Christ is. Let me start by saying that it includes everything that you need in this life for your own personal needs as well as for the needs of the ministry that you are called to.
