Hebrews 4:16 admonishes us to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
The throne of grace is a place of worship, a place of intimacy and vulnerability towards the Lord. The more time we spend getting to know the Lord, the more grace gets multiplied to us. Notice that 2 Peter 1:2 i does not say that grace will be added to us, it says that grace will be multiplied to us in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Dead religion does not place an emphasis on a relationship with your creator. Christianity cannot function without a relationship with the Lord.
Dead religion is all about rules and formulas,
Christianity is all about RELATIONSHIP.
As we spend time with the Lord, as we spend time worshipping, meditating on the Word and praying, we grow in our knowledge of Who the Lord really is…
We get to know His heart and His character, and we get to know what motivates Him, what blesses Him and what hurts Him.
Many believers have fallen into the trap of dead religion, they have fallen into a works focused, formula orientated, rule dominated religion. They love the Lord, but they do not know Him, His heart and His ways. They pray to a stopwatch, confess scripture as a formula, go to church as a ritual and they read the Bible as a manual with formulas and truths for successful living.
Family, GRACE and PEACE as well as FAITH cannot be earned, there is no seven step formula to get God to give you what you need, the Lord has freely given us all things and everything that the Lord has given us is imparted and multiplied to us through relationship.
PRAYER
Holy Spirit, You are my helper... lead me into a deeper, stronger relationship with You, the Father and with Jesus. Help me to grow in my knowledge of God and of Jesus my Lord.
I come to the throne of grace and I worship. I seek Your face and drink as I thirst for more of You. As I spend time with You, Grace and peace is multiplied to me in the knowledge of God and of Jesus my Lord.
