Today’s devotion is from Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
The Passion Translation says, ‘So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.’
Dead religion has taught many believers to be ashamed and to hide from God like Adam and Eve did when they have made mistakes that lead to calamity or hardship. New Covenant grace through Jesus imparts a boldness that is not ashamed. Because of His love and grace and unconditional acceptance we run to God in our time of trouble, not away from Him.
I have heard people say, “the Lord may forgive you, but He is very disappointed in you”. Friend, God is not disappointed in you no matter what you have done! When we make mistakes, when we make wrong decisions, when we say or do the wrong thing, or when we sin or fall into a trap of the enemy, our Heavenly Father immediately dispenses ministering angels, He immediately prompts His intercessors to pray and He immediately sends the Holy Spirit to lead you out of your trouble into victory. The Father waists no time feeling disappointed, instead He lovingly starts working all things together for your victory.
New Covenant grace destroys the destructive spirits of blame and shame…
As you receive His grace, blame, shame and condemnation go and boldness comes. Boldness to run to where love and grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.
As you receive the Fathers grace and mercy at His throne of grace, you will find help in your time of need! Help in the form of provision, wisdom, favor, supernatural ability and supernatural strength… help in the form of protection, deliverance and a way of escape and help in the form of restoration, retribution and renewal. When the Father helps you He turns your blunders into blessings, and He turns your setbacks into success.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
