Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Romans 8:31
‘If God is for us, who can be against us?’
Another way of translating this powerful verse is, “Since God is for us, who, or what can ever overcome, and defeat us?” The answer is, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
In this passage of scripture, Paul was assuring the church in Rome that the CREATOR of the universe was on their side, and was fighting for them, and that they had nothing to fear.
As with the believers in the church in Rome, many believers today do not have the revelation and the full assurance that God is for them… they feel that the Lord either is taking a passive stance when it comes to their lives, or that for some reason or another, they have disqualified themselves. Friends, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are not passively sitting in the heavenly realm, watching your defeat, they are ACTIVELY working all things together for your good, and for your victory in all things, and you have been FULLY QUALIFIED to receive God’s favor and intervention through Christ!
Child of God, God is for you, not against you, He is all about making you, not breaking you, He gave His only begotten Son to qualify you, not to disqualify you, and He is doing everything in His power to build you, not to break you! Our God is a God of love, mercy and grace, you are His child and He loves you, and He has done everything in His power to give you a hope and a future. And because He is for you, nothing can prosper against you!
The Passion Translation says, ‘If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us? For God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son. And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice for us all, He certainly won’t withhold from us anything else He has to give.
Who then would dare to accuse those whom God has chosen in love to be His? God Himself is the judge who has issued His final verdict over them—“Not guilty!”
Who then is left to condemn us? Certainly not Jesus, the Anointed One! For He gave his life for us, and even more than that, He has conquered death and is now risen, exalted, and enthroned by God at His right hand. So how could He possibly condemn us since He is continually praying for our triumph?
Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish His love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love.’ (Romans 8:31-35)
Your loving God is interceding for you right now… He has assigned His angels over you to protect you… right now, He is leading His prayer warriors to pray for you, right now He is surrounding you with opportunities for breakthrough and blessing. He will never give up on you, He will never back down, He will never stop doing everything in His power for you to be blessed, at peace, full of joy, healthy, strong, fulfilled and living the abundant life! God is for you child of God, and if He is for you, who can be against you?
