Did you know that every time the priests carried the Ark of the Covenant that it required a miracle? There are extensive records about the physical characteristics of the Ark of the Covenant. Jewish Priests and other sources have estimated the weight of the Ark of the Covenant and its contents. According to the details that we have the wood for the ark together with the carrying poles, the solid gold mercy seat and the two solid gold cherubim weighed at least 6000 pounds not including its contents.
The bible says in 1 Chronicles 15:15 that the children of the Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders, by its poles, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the LORD… There were four men who carried the ark, so each man was carrying over 1500 pounds.
Each time that the ark was moved, the Lord had to supernaturally give each carrier miracle strength. [In 1 Chronicles 15:26 it says that God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord.] They walked for miles and miles carrying that ark… as they did, they did it effortlessly according to His power and might working in and through them.
Men could not carry the Ark of the Old Covenant in their own strength and it is so very important to know that we cannot carry the New Covenant in our own strength either! When we do what we are called to do according to the New Covenant, we do it by the grace given to us, and because of His grace, when we are weak, then we are strong in the strength of the Lord. By grace, Jesus puts the Holy Ghost super on our natural and because of the New Covenant power of the Holy Ghost, His yoke is easy and His burden is light… Because of Jesus, we can rest even as we are carrying things that are way beyond our natural ability to carry!
Do not EVER try to do things on your own! Do what you do by the power and the might of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus Name!
