Today’s devotion is from Matthew 10:8

‘Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.’

The passion translation says, ‘You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick, and make it your habit to break off the demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the kingdom, so freely release it to others.’

The Old Covenant is all about your works… ‘do this, do that…’ The New Covenant is all about Jesus works… ‘RECEIVE this, receive that…’ receive, receive, receive! Then, release what you have received to others!

Most people are programmed to think that every problem is a result of ‘wrongdoing’ and that every solution is a result of ‘doing the right thing’. They believe that it is all on us. Life in the New Covenant is not as much about our doing, but our receiving what Jesus has already done! In the New Covenant RECEIVING precedes DOING! Then, when we do something, we do it out of the overflow of what has been given to us!

In 1 Peter 4:10 it says, ‘As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.’ You see, we receive by grace through faith, then AFTER receiving, we minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. This takes the pressure off us and focuses our trust on Jesus!

2 Peter 1:3-4 says, ‘His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises…’

His power has given to us ‘all things that pertain to life’ (Everything we need to live a blessed life here on earth)

*Supernatural ability

*Supernatural Knowledge and wisdom

*Provision and prosperity

*Healing and divine health

*Peace and joy

His power has given to us all things that pertain to godliness (Ministry)

*Miracle working power

*Anointing

*Supernatural authority over all of the works of the devil

*Gifts of the Spirit for ministry

*The power to declare a thing and then see it manifest

Place your focus on receiving, and then the doing will be an easy overflow of what you already have!

How do we receive?

By grace (The supernatural ability to receive)

Through faith (placing our trust on Jesus)

Enter His rest today and receive, in Jesus Name!
