Today’s devotion is from John 7:37-39 (AMP)

Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘from his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’” But He was speaking of the [Holy] Spirit, whom those who believed in Him [as Savior] were to receive afterward. The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

The main ways to drink from the everlasting water that Jesus gives are through worship, meditation on the Word, prayer, praise, thanksgiving and speaking in tongues.

When we come to Jesus and drink, we are drinking the anointing from the Holy Spirit. Drinking the living water that Jesus gives is how we increase the anointing in our lives.

Jesus is the One who baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and fire, He is the One who continues to pour living water into our innermost being, and He is the embodiment of the anointing that we are engrafted into... In Him we live and move and have our being!

Jesus said that after we come to Him and drink, continual rivers of living water will flow out from our innermost being… that is a description of releasing the anointing that we have received from the Holy Spirit through Jesus.

The anointing that we receive from the Holy Spirit through Jesus is not meant to be contained and is not just for our personal blessing, it is meant to flow out of us like rivers toward others.

Releasing the anointing…

The anointing is imparted by faith, and when believers impart the anointing, they release it to others or over situations from their innermost beings by faith

Releasing the anointing through the laying on of hands…

2 Timothy 1:6 (AMP) "I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands."

Releasing the anointing by faith through words…

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it [your mouth] may impart grace [the anointing] to the hearers."

Others placing a demand on your anointing and making a withdrawal...

Remember the woman with the issue of blood? She pressed through the crowds, touched Jesus, placed a demand on the anointing, and made a withdrawal. ‘Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me: for I perceive that virtue [anointing] is gone out of Me.”’ (Luke 8:46)

I commend you today to trust the Lord for increased anointing on your life, and then impart and release that anointing by faith onto people, situations, places, plans and finances. Release it to bring life to the things of God, and death to sickness, poverty, oppression and every enslaving yoke of the enemy.
