Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
After we went shopping today, Esther said to me, “why don’t you take the garbage to the dump, and I will unpack the groceries.” I went to the dump to dispose of an old bookshelf and did not give the groceries a second thought again…
The Lord is saying the same thing to you today, “Give me your cares, and then go about your business”.
Let Him deal will the things that pressure you out, the things that you don’t have an answer for... the things that are bigger than you and beyond your ability... cast all of those things to Jesus and then trust Him with them.
The Passion Translation says, “Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for you.”
If something is stressing you out, let go and let God! He may give it back to you at another time when you are better equipped to handle it, or He may just take care of the situation... either way, stop carrying things that the Lord is meant to carry.
Have a blessed day, and remember to take some time to smell the roses!
Blessings on you, Nick
