Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Colossians 3:15 (AMP)
Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].
Peace comes from thankfulness, and thankfulness comes from appreciating the little things…
As you go through your day, look around you, and notice and appreciate the little things… the birds chirping, the smell of fresh coffee… look around you, and find something to be thankful about.
You may be surprised how many people who live in Hawaii do not even notice its beauty… they do not see the lush tropical greenery, the spectacular mountains, the amazing ocean with it’s many shades of blue and turquoise, the waterfalls gushing down the Ko’olau’s after the rain, or the rainbows arching over the road ahead as they drive through roads that wind through dense forest filled with flowery trees. It is so gorgeous here, but many do not even notice! I notice… I appreciate, and I express thankfulness to God every single day for this little piece of heaven on earth!
I am so thankful for my family, for my friends, for my pets and for God’s calling upon my life… I am surrounded with things that are there to bless me… yet, it is so easy to look past all of the little things that God has surrounded us with. I don’t care how many challenges you are facing right now, God has been very good to you! Appreciate the little things, be thankful, and then get ready to be flooded with peace that passes understanding!
Blessings on you, Nick
