Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Exodus 3:7-12
The Lord said to Moses: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I HAVE COME DOWN to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I WILL SEND YOU to Pharaoh that YOU MAY BRING MY PEOPLE OUT of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “WHO AM I, THAT I SHOULD GO to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” So, He said, “I WILL CERTAINLY BE WITH YOU. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
Notice how God saw oppression, then committed to do something about it, then proceeded to send a PERSON in His name! God uses people!
When the Lord gave Moses the command, Moses immediately focused on his own inability… he asked, “who am I?”, God answered, “I WILL…” The Lord assigns people to do His work, but He never expects us to do anything that He calls us to do in our own strength and ability… when He gives us assignments, He expects us to look to Him for strength, ability and provision, not to ourselves!
Like Moses, so many people think that they have to live life in their own strength. Your job, your relationships, your ministry, your finances, and your responsibilities are all ‘God assignments’. When you are led by the Spirit, EVERYTHING in your life is an assignment from the Lord, and He NEVER expects you to do ANYTHING in your own strength. Assignments from the Lord can only be carried out supernaturally… just like Moses’ assignment to set Israel free, could only be done supernaturally, EVERY assignment from the Lord HAS TO be done in His power to succeed!
Most Spirit-filled believers know this when it comes to BIG commands from the Lord; they fail to recognize that seemingly small things take the same miracle working power to succeed. Many will use faith in the BIG things, and then attempt to do the SMALL THINGS on their own… to that, scripture says, “Catch the foxes for us, THE LITTLE FOXES that are ruining the vineyards, while our vineyards are in blossom.” (Song of Solomon 2:15) IF LITTLE THINGS are not done in faith, by the supernatural power and miracle working ability of the Lord, they become those ‘little foxes’ that DESTROY!
Do all things in His strength, and by His power, with total faith in HIM, and live life in the overflow, in Jesus Name! The Lord wants to use you to do His work, He wants to fill your life with assignments, but He never intended for you to do what He leads you to do in your strength and ability… let Him do it THROUGH you, and you will succeed every time! Selah!
