Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 John 4:18 (AMP)
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].
Many believers do not step out in faith and do mighty things for God because they are afraid…
They are afraid of failure, afraid that they may not be fully prepared, afraid that they might miss God and afraid, that if they do something wrong, that God will punish them, or bring judgement upon them.
When believers get a revelation of the Father’s LOVE for them, the anointing on the love that they receive expels and casts out ALL FEAR!
When you step out in faith, you are going to make mistakes, but GRACE will cover you and bring you to a place of success in spite of your mistakes… The Father is not sitting on His throne, ready to punish you, He is there to lift you, not to crush you down! A revelation of His perfect love will cast out all fear and will impart boldness, confidence and faith!
2 Timothy 1:7 (AMPC) says, “God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”
Some may say that the bible tells them to fear God… the scriptures that talk about the ‘fear of God’ are wrongly translated… they should read, ‘the worshipful reverence of God’, or worship God… Let me prove it to you… in Deuteronomy 6:13, the Authorized King James Version says, “Thou shalt FEAR the Lord thy God, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name.” When confronting the devil, Jesus quotes this scripture in John 4:8… look at how Jesus translates the word FEAR… “and Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan!For it is written, ‘You shall WORSHIP the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” The Father does not want you to FEAR Him, He wants you to reverentially WORSHIP Him!
New King James Version says in 1 John 4:8, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…” God is LOVE, and there is NO FEAR in love, therefore love casts out ALL FEAR… do not FEAR God, reverently worship Him!
Friend, the Father loves you, Jesus loves you, the Holy Spirit loves you… receive a revelation of that love, acceptance and embrace today, and you will never fear again… ALL fear will be permanently expelled from your life… fearing God’s judgement, fear of failure, fear of death… ALL FEAR will be permanently cast out as you receive a revelation of the love of God!
