Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
The Passion Translation says, “When you abide under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High. He’s the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me,
the only God for me, and my great confidence.”
I remember exactly where I was twenty years ago on this day… as I saw the images of the towers… the smoke, the people jumping to their death, and the pandemonium, followed by the plane flying into the Pentagon; I remember the surreal atmosphere that seemed to fill the air across America. It felt like the whole nation was under attack as we all braced for the unknown…
Today, we are dealing with another assault… this time it is a global assault on all of humanity… this time the death toll ‘to date’ is over four million globally… and these are the deaths that we know about!
Both 9/11 as well as C-19 with all of its variants are attacks from the powers of darkness against people made in the image of God! The devil hates people… he has come to steal, kill and destroy!
The good news is that no matter what the devil and the powers of darkness launch at humanity next, we have a safe, secure place that is one hundred percent guaranteed to protect us… His name is Jesus!
This is the promise to those who stand in faith and take shelter in Jesus… “A thousand may fall at your side,and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.” (Psalm 91:7)
The Passion Translation says, “Even in a time of disaster, with thousands and thousands being killed, you will remain unscathed and unharmed.”
Things are progressively going to get worse as we near the end of the age, but this is not the time for believers to hide away in their homes and cower in fear… hide in JESUS, rise up and be a light in this dark world! As believers in Christ, we are the only hope for this lost, fearful, afflicted world! We have more than a message to give… we have Jesus… we have the POWER unto salvation, and know about a secret place of safety and security… His Name is Jesus!
