Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 Corinthians 2:12
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN GIVEN?
Your inheritance as a child of God in Christ is huge… as I share on what you have been given as an inheritance, ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding and to give you a REVELATION of what you have in Christ. Do not just read over what is being shared, receive REVELATION as you MEDITATE on this!
WE HAVE INHERITED ALL THAT JESUS IS AND ALL THAT HE HAS…
Romans 8:16-17 (TPT) says, “For the Holy Spirit makes God’s Fatherhood real to us as He whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” And since we are His true children, we qualify to share all His treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God Himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that He is and all that He has.”
In Christ we have what Jesus has… His power, His wisdom, His ability, His authority as well as all of the gold and all of the silver in the universe (Haggai 2:8) and much, much more! There is not lack in Christ, therefore, those in Christ literally have been given everything!
WE HAVE EVERYTHING WE NEED FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS
2 Peter 1:2-4 (TPT) says, “Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by His divine power…” EVERYTHING that we could ever need for life and ministry is ours in Christ… in Christ we can and should be living in continual overflow!
As believers we have been given supernatural gifts of the Spirit, supernatural ability, supernatural anointed power and authority in Jesus Name, and more than this we have been given ‘sozo’ (salvation) which includes limitless provision, continual protection, supernatural preservation, never ending deliverance from all bondage, divine health, total wholeness and every blessing that the Father has available to bless us with… add to that grace, faith, peace and joy unspeakable and full of glory and I now have articulated a tiny fraction of what you have in Christ!
HOW DO WE RECEIVE WHAT WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN?
As said in yesterday’s devotion, one of the reasons that believers are not walking in what has been freely given to them is that they do not have a revelation from the Lord that all that He is and all that He has is theirs… secondly, they do not know how to receive what belongs to them.
As believers we RECEIVE everything freely given to us by God by grace, through faith…
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been ‘saved’ (‘sozoed’ = healed, made whole, prospered, delivered, protected, provided for, empowered, anointed, appointed and blessed with every blessing) through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
EVERYTHING from God is RECEIVED by grace through faith… His GRACE towards us is our ‘access code’ to God’s treasure chest containing our inheritance, and our FAITH is the supernatural vehicle that transports what we take out of that treasure chest from heaven to earth… like a spoon that scoops up food and brings it to a person’s mouth, FAITH scoops up what we have in heavenly places and brings it to us right here on earth. Faith takes us from ownership to occupation!
HOW DOES FAITH RECEIVE WHAT WE HAVE AND BRING IT INTO MANIFESTATION?
Romans 10:8-10 says, “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the Word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Faith operates through WORDS that are filled with anointing, authority and power (The word of faith which we preach). With the heart one BELIEVES, and WITH THE MOUTH confession is made unto (healing, provision, wholeness, the power of God, and unto all that Jesus has given us).
Jesus made the universe with WORDS of faith… His words of faith transported what had been laid up in Heaven to where Jesus was speaking… God SAID, “light be” and light was… God said, “Earth be”, and the earth was, God said, “stars, planets and moon be” and the stars, the planets and the moon manifested… that is how faith operates and that is how faith receives.
“Father, now I have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that I might know the things that have been freely given to me by God. I receive my inheritance now by grace through faith, in Jesus Name! I call those things that be not as though they were! I believe in my heart and with my mouth confession is made unto my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus Name! I receive what I have in my New Covenant in Christ, in Jesus Name! I now step out in faith, and operate and live and have my being with what You have given me! I expect to live on a new level and to minister on a new level, in Jesus Name!”
