Today’s New Covenant nugget is from James 1:23-24
For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
The Passion Translation says, ‘If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin.’
The New Covenant Word of God is a mirror that reflects who you are in Christ! It not only reflects who you are in Christ, it transforms you into what you see.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “that we all, with unveiled face, beholding ‘as in a mirror’ the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” The Word has a transforming anointing on it… as you meditate upon it, as you speak the Word, hear the Word, and do the Word, the transformational glory of Jesus is revealed ‘as in a mirror’, and you are forever changed into the image of Jesus. The change is progressive… the more time that you spend in the Word, the more you become like Jesus!
Our spirits are instantly made new the second that we get born again, but the rest of us gets transformed (Metamorphosis) into new creatures progressively as we look into the Word, receive the ‘reflective’ revelation, and then do what we see by grace, through faith.
As we are TRANSFORMED into the image of Jesus from glory to glory, we receive the mind of Christ, the faith of Christ, the ability of Christ and the power of Christ to walk in the supernatural, as Jesus did!
Carry God’s mirror around with you all day, and look into it at every opportunity!
In His amazing love, Nick
