Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Corinthians 8:9 (TPT)
For you have experienced THE EXTRAVAGANT GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although He was infinitely rich, He impoverished Himself for our sake, so that by His poverty, we become rich beyond measure.
Extravagant grace has opened the door for us to be rich beyond measure!
Extravagant grace gives us as believers supernatural ability, supernatural wisdom and knowledge, it give us supernatural favor, supernatural discernment and supernatural POWER to become wealthy and successful! This wealth and success is PRIMARILY to establish and to confirm the New Covenant on earth as we reign in Christ as kings and priests…
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (AMPC) says, “Beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, MY POWER and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, THAT HE MAY ESTABLISH HIS COVENANT which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
The Message Bible says, “If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today.”
The Hebrew word translated as ‘establish’ in the ‘AMPC’ and ‘confirm’ in The Message Bible is ‘qûwm’, literally meaning ‘to bring to pass and to confirm’. All of the money that we have, is money that the Father has given us, and its primary purpose should be firstly to spread the Gospel of the New Covenant of GRACE, and secondly to then CONFIRM that it is truly a covenant of GRACE!
Some may say, “wait a minute, I earned all that I have by my own hard work”… like The Message Bible translates it, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine”… here is the thing; you would not even exist if God was not holding you together and keeping you alive by His grace… He has given you talent, ability and favor, and that talent, ability and favor has enabled you to get what you have!
The good news is, ‘what you have now’ is only a drop in the bucket compared to what the Lord wants to give you! When you ‘let go’ of what is in your hand and honor the Lord with it by using what you have in your hand for His kingdom, you will open up the floodgates of a supernatural river of wealth, as well as increased POWER to get more wealth to establish and to confirm His covenant!
Firstly the Lord GIVES us wealth by GRACE, as an inheritance; then as we show ourselves to be good stewards in little… as we operate by faith according to our covenant with what He has given us… as we do this, the Father will increase supernatural POWER, favor, ability, might, knowhow, anointing, GRACE and miracle provision into our hands!
Pray this prayer of consecration with me… “Father, thank You that by your extravagant grace, although Jesus was infinitely rich, He impoverished Himself for my sake, so that by His poverty, I would become rich beyond measure. I give You everything that I have right now, I recognize that I have what I have by your grace, and I commit to prioritize ‘establishing and confirming’ the New Covenant with all that I have! As I do, You will open the floodgates of your river of abundance in my life! I commit to steward the wealth that you give me by your POWER, ability and might, as the Holy Spirit leads me, according to your Word. You can get wealth THROUGH me Lord, so get it TO ME, in Jesus Name! Together we will take your gospel of GRACE to this lost and dying world!”
