Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 Corinthians 13:9-10

For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

The Passion Translation says, “Our present knowledge and our prophecies are but partial, but when love’s perfection arrives, the partial will fade away.”

For those in the US, no matter which political side of the isle you are on, very few people that I know of saw this election playing out like it is. I am not aware of one prophecy that has been given that prepared the church for what we are facing right now… so, what now?

Firstly, we should never despise prophecy… 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 (TPT) says, “Don’t be one who scorns prophecies, but be faithful to examine them by putting them to the test, and afterward hold tightly to what has proven to be right.” Sometimes prophets and those with the gift of prophecy totally miss it, sometimes they prophesy ‘in part’ and do not see the whole picture, or the detail of what happens before an outcome… sometimes they prophecy an outcome and leave out the condition that has to be met for the prophesied outcome to come to pass.

Accurate prophecy contains God’s word, but is not equal to ‘the Word’ of God. What am I saying? I am saying that we are still in the process of finding out whether the prophecies are right, wrong, only in part, or if they simply did not include the Lord’s conditions.

Regardless of what was expected, or the prophecies given, we need to focus on the fact that while many of us may be surprised or confused… that God is not surprised or confused. He sees the end from the beginning, and in that light He says, “all things work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose”. Know this for a fact… God is working ALL things that the believers in this nation are facing right now for our good and for the good of His kingdom!

“DO NOT FEAR CHILD OF GOD, THIS IS YOUR SEASON TO BE ENDOWED WITH MY POWER, THIS IS YOUR SEASON TO TAKE YOUR PLACE AND TO REIGN IN THIS LIFE AS KINGS AND PRIESTS IN CHRIST!”

So, what now? Now we take our place as salt and light, we place our dependence upon the Lord and we get ready to run! Donald Trump and Joe Biden just ‘ran’ for president, but now we get to ‘run’ in the authority of Jesus! Either Donald Trump or Joe Biden will probably become president, but whoever does will be very limited in what they can actually do… BUT for us that are ‘running’ for Jesus… the sky is the limit!

For those who are in fear about a possible corrupt government… just look at the early church in the time of the Roman empire… Christianity was outlawed, Christians were imprisoned, martyred, hung on crosses, boiled in oil and stoned to death, but the church still flourished. One of the greatest seasons in the history of the church was during the Roman empire!

No matter who ultimately wins the race for president, secular corruption will increase, the antichrist agenda will be on the uprise, there will be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, strange weather patterns, pestilence, pandemics… many who claim to be Christians will adopt a form of godliness, only to deny the power of the Holy Ghost – but in the midst of this chaos, the Holy Spirit will be poured out on all flesh, the greatest awakening in history will erupt, the true church will be endued with power like never before, and believers will do the works of Jesus as kings and priests in Christ!

So, what now? Now, no matter what happens in politics, we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we lay aside every weight as well as the sins that have entangled us and weighed us down, and we run the race with endurance as we keep our eyes on the prize… the high calling of God in Christ!

Blessings on you, Nick
