Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 32:10-11
Many sorrows shall be to the ungodly; but he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
Psalm 32:10-11 contrasts a person who lives by faith to the person who does not… the word translated as ‘ungodly’ refers to a ‘do it yourself’ person… ‘un-Godly’, or ‘without God’. Those who do not involve the Lord and place their trust in Him will be continually overtaken with sorrow, sadness, hopelessness and depression, but he who trusts in the Lord and lives by faith, “mercy shall surround him and he shall be GLAD in the Lord (not sad)… he will rejoice and shout for joy!
Place your trust in the Lord in everything right now… meditate on His faithfulness and on His commitment to do whatever it takes to get you to the other side, not just to get you to the other side, but to get you there blessed, stronger, richer and better than before!
Psalm 46:1-4 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. THERE IS A RIVER whose streams shall MAKE GLAD the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.”
Be glad, not sad in challenging times! There is a river, whose streams shall make glad the people of God! The river speaks of ‘Holy Ghost anointing’ flowing from the throne of God. His river MAKES those who swim in it and drink from it GLAD! The river is continually flowing… in fact it is there for you to jump in and drink right now! As you jump in and drink by faith, it’s waters will immediately make you glad!
Declare Psalm 9:2 with me right now…
“I will be glad and rejoice in You Lord; I will sing praise to Your Name, O Most High.”
Blessings on you, Nick
