Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
In John 14:16-17, Jesus promised, “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
You have a supernatural, all powerful Helper! The Holy Spirit is on assignment to HELP you whenever you need help.
Many things that we face are bigger than we are, many situations are greater than our ability… even though we can do all things through Christ, we still need HELP.
All of us face times when we become aware that we are in over our heads… times where we run out of rope and times when our gas tanks reach ‘empty’ – it is in such times that we need to remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit is there to help us!
Psalm 46:1-3 (TPT) says, “God, You’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble - more than enough and always available whenever I need You. So we will never fear even if every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earth quakes and shakes, moving mountains and casting them into the sea. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in You.”
Take advantage of the fact that you have a supernatural Helper… ask Him to help you, ask Him for advice, ask Him for ability, ask Him for miracles in your time of need. Jesus did not leave us alone, He asked the Father to give us a Helper, and the Father has done just that… the Holy Spirit lives on the inside of you and He is your EVER-PRESENT help in your times of need!
Blessings on you, Nick
