Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Acts 10:4 (AMP)
Cornelius was frightened and stared intently at him and said, “What is it, lord (sir)?” And the angel said to him, “Your prayers and gifts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God [an offering made in remembrance of His past blessings].
On this Memorial Day weekend, I feel led to talk about another kind of memorial… the memorial prayer. Brave military men and woman gave their lives for this nation, and their giving stands, and will forever stand as a memorial of freedom before God and the people of America.
When we sacrificially give our lives, our finances and our service as an offering to the Lord, our giving stands forever as a memorial of everlasting freedom before God. When we mix giving and prayer, our prayers become memorial prayers that stand before the Lord.
When Cornelius mixed his prayer of faith with giving offerings, his offerings mixed with his prayers ascended as a memorial before God. – The prayer of faith is powerful and giving offerings to the Lord is powerful… when you mix them together, it is like mixing gasoline and fire together – explosive power is ignited and released.
To be sure, Cornelius was not relying on ‘works’ to ‘get’ God to do something, nor was he attempting to ‘buy’ a miracle from God… the fact that the Lord sent an angel to Cornelius was a total act of New Covenant grace from the Lord to Cornelius. Having said that, Cornelius tapped into two very powerful anointings when he mixed his giving with his prayers… giving offerings to the Lord has a powerful anointing on it, and the prayer of faith is loaded with the anointing… when mixed together, it has a ten fold effect on the anointing – (one will put a thousand to flight, two will put ten thousand to flight).
We got the revelation on the memorial prayer about 25 years ago… we had been standing in faith and praying for a miracle for our daughter Leilani, who had been challenged with a physical condition. When the Lord gave us the revelation, Esther sowed her salary for several months, mixing our prayers of faith with our giving… grace flooded our memorial prayer with increased anointing and Leilani was miraculously healed.
We have since used the memorial prayer many times with astounding results… financial miracles, physical miracles and breakthrough miracles manifested – As with Cornelius, the memorial prayer comes up before the Lord as a memorial edifice and then He commands His angels to do whatever it takes to bring a miracle into manifestation!
If you ever seem to ‘hit a wall’ in life… the memorial prayer may just be your answer from the Lord for breakthrough – pray about it and ask the Lord for your very own revelation on the power of the memorial prayer!
