Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]
Friends, when we are in Christ, grafted into Jesus Christ and joined to Him by faith… we have been made new. We have been made by His design and all things pertaining to our life has been made new.
Part of our new creature in Christ’s inheritance, is the authority that He has given us. Unbelievers don’t have spiritual authority, but in Christ, in our place of having been grafted into Him, we have been given a new kind of authority – it’s an authority that the world wishes it had… but it’s our spiritual authority that comes when we use the name of Jesus.
As the Lord continues to make us new, we need to let go of the baggage that we carried in our un-reborn place. Too many times I hear Christians talk about curses that have been spoken over them or carnal things that are affecting them and their spiritual life. Friends, be reminded today, that you have been made new. In Christ, as a new creature in Christ, as a Christian, part of what you have inherited in Christ, is a Godly powerful authority in Him. You are not only blood-washed, redeemed, saved, sanctified, you are free from the hold of the enemy in every way.
Every day in Him is new. Daily, walk and live reminding yourself that you are a new creature in Christ. Old things are past, all things are made new and part of the new you, is the authority that you now have in Christ Jesus. The new has come in your life. The new you in Christ is grafted in, abiding in the vine, walking in His Joy, walking in His peace, walking in His love and walking in His authority – free, whole, complete in Him.
Blessings on you, Esther
