Today’s devotion is from Psalm 91:14-16
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
The Lord has not only called us into a relationship with Him. Here in Psalm 91 in the Old Covenant, we see a promise that He made to those of us in The New Covenant. We now have access to this promise through the precious New Covenant of His Grace. He promised to rescue us, He promised to protect those of us who trust in the Name of Jesus, He promised to answer us and be with us in trouble. He promised to reward us with a long life and He promise us salvation.
In Christ Jesus we have the fulfilment of these promises. The Word salvation, “Sozo” means, protection (preservation), deliverance, healing, provision and safe-keeping.
We love Him, because He first loved us. In everything we do, we see the Father’s love extended to us. His faithfulness goes beyond measure. When you stop and think about your life today and where you are at right now and who are you are in Christ Jesus, everything within you begins to give God glory and praise for all the situations in your life that He has brought you through. His daily protection, guarding your thoughts, your being and your very existence. He is always there to answer, to guide us by His precious Holy Spirit. He is always there to rescue us from situations we did not ever know about or consider. He daily rewards us with strength, determination, hope, vision and the ability to trust in Him.
Salvation has been freely given to us through Jesus blood shed on the cross of Calvary. All these blessings are ours because we are in covenant with Him. He has commanded His angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways. I can just picture the angels, working in conjunction with the Holy Spirit’s leading on our lives… we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit’s still voice and the angels follow the commands of the Lord to watch over us.
We have a heavenly host encamping about us… we are not only blood washed, redeemed, saved, sanctified, protected, full of His Spirit but we are part of the Lord’s army where Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
