Today’s devotion is from 1 Corinthians 13:7 (TPT)

Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.

Love believes the best, not the worst…

I would rather believe that someone had good intentions, than believing that they may have had bad intentions. I would rather believe that someone made an honest mistake, than believe that a person intentionally meant to do the wrong thing, and I would rather believe that someone has a good heart, than believe that a person is a corrupt person… that is what agape love does, it believes the best of and about others, not the worst.

Many people are very quick to judge others…

They are quick to call a person a troublemaker, a liar, a deceiver, or to call them a person that has evil intent, but the fact is that nobody knows what is in the heart of another. So, if you do not know what is in another person’s heart, why not just believe the best, after all, is that not what you would want them to do to you?

I always try to see the diamond in people…

Every person is a diamond… every person has been fearfully and wonderfully made by Jesus, and every person is gifted, talented and has a special call on their life. People do make mistakes and people do mess up, but love bears all things and believes the best about all people. Love looks for the good in people and focuses on that. When you walk in love, in grace and in compassion toward people, you will find that others will do the same toward you - it is the kingdom, New Covenant way of living -  Selah
