Today’s devotion is from 1 Corinthians 2:9 (AMPC)
‘But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, what eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].’
I remember being in a meeting in Honolulu years ago and a preacher walked up to us during the service and declared this scripture over Nick and myself. Faith immediately rose up within us as we began to speak this verse over and over our lives…. We grew more excited each time we quoted this scripture and claimed it as our very own. We took this verse as a direct living Word from God himself into our lives. By faith, we began to thank the Holy Spirit for what He had prepared for our lives and excitement welled up inside us as we began to thank Him for the plans He had for our lives. We that we would be prompt to obey His leading and we positioned ourselves to receive.
We thanked Him that He would do things through our lives that had never been done before, never been heard of before nor imagined. All this because He loved us so much. Today as I sit here in Hawaii, I see our view, our home, our amazing family, our wonderful church family at Amazing Love and I see 2 little kids, Nick and Esther, who grew up in South Africa, who yielded to the leading God, were prompt to obey, and now, just like the disciples who crossed over the sea of Galilee with Jesus, we crossed over a couple oceans, to the other side of the earth to the ends of the earth… and here we are in Hawaii.
He is still faithful in caring for us and providing for us and touching lives though us each day. Who would have thought that was ever possible. We are so glad and blessed that we are still walking in and experiencing 1 Cor. 2: 9 on a daily basis and still prompt to obey, gratefully recognizing His blessings moment by moment.
All Glory and Praise – How Great is our God.
