Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Luke 1:30-33

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David: And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.

When the angel appeared to Mary announcing to her the wonderful miracle of Jesus’ birth… and for the first time, she hears the name of her Son - little did she know, that His name would become the name above every other name and that at the mention of His name, all heaven and earth would bow down and worship Him.

I am sure when the angel said the name ‘Jesus’ that she felt the anointing and power of His name resonate within her being. When we experience salvation, we call upon the name of Jesus and not only are we saved… our spirit man is made new, and at the mention of His name, everything around us changes. Jesus… there’s truly something about that name, just as the song says that we so often sing.

The angel goes on to tell Mary that of His Kingdom - there shall be no end. Friends, Jesus was born to the virgin Mary many years ago in Bethlehem, but of His Kingdom there shall be no end, just like the Angel spoke forth that day.

His Kingdom reigns in our hearts. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings and here… 2000 years later, His Kingdom is reigning in our hearts and lives - His peace, His joy, His life, His delivering Power, His healing power, His provision and His protecting power, is ruling and reigning in the lives of those who have received Him as Lord and Savior - and His reign will continue in the lives of those who will receive Him as Lord and Savior, right through eternity, there will be no end of His reign.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this beautiful, wonderful Christmas season, lift up your voice and declare with me, “Jesus, You are Great and You reign in my life… You will continue to reign in my life through eternity. I am a part of Your Kingdom – Your Kingdom that will never end… I have been born into Your Kingdom to live and reign with You forever. Thank You Jesus - You are forever to be Praised. Selah.
