Today’s devotion is from Acts 3:19
Repent (change the way that you think) therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
New Covenant repentance is changing the way a person thinks… the Greek word translated as ‘repent’ is ‘metanoéo’, literally meaning, ‘to change one’s mind. As we let go of our old way of thinking, our old ‘world views’ and as we get delivered from those thoughts that lead to fear, worry and sin consciousness, the refreshing anointing streams in from the presence of the Lord.
I have heard people say, “I hate my job, I hate my home, I hate having to get up so early…” – the way that we think about something can give the devil place in our minds! As we change the way that we think and allow the Holy Spirit to govern our thoughts and our thought processes, we are converted into seeing hindrances as opportunities, lack into times of miracle provision and relationship problems as opportunities to grow. Instead of hating things, we appreciate the opportunities that they offer.
If you are ‘bothered’ about things today, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you into repentance by changing your mind and changing the way that you think and the way that you see things… allow the Holy Spirit to ‘convert’ you and to turn you around in your thinking… as this happens times of refreshing will flood you like a Holy Ghost shower of living water… in Jesus Name!
