Today’s devotion is from 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT)
‘Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.’
The Passion Translation says, But He answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and My power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.
As a believer, your limitations are portholes for God’s unlimited power!
His power finds it’s full expression in your weaknesses, in your limitations and in your inability. As an example, in the natural, I am not a writer, and yet God has called and equipped me to write, so, even though I do not have much ability to write in the natural, my weakness has become a porthole for God’s power and thousands of people around the world are being encouraged and fed by my written teachings.
The key is to renew your mind concerning this truth… Be open to the calling of God in areas of your life that you are weak in. Do not avoid things that come your way that are outside of your natural ability. Most of God’s callings are in the areas of our weaknesses and limitations.
As you step out in an area of weakness, do it in His strength. Do what you do in His ability and in His unlimited power. He is ready today to put His Super on your natural for you to walk in His supernatural. You can do ALL things THROUGH Christ… another way of saying it is that Christ can do all things through you as long as you are yielded to Him. We are called to the gloves on His hands… as we yield, He does His work through us. Imagine if a glove was ridged… you would not even be able to get your hand into it… a good glove is supple. Just be supple, be yielded, give in to His way, and as you do, He will do mighty works through you!
