Today’s devotion is from Philippians 4:11-12 (AMP)

“Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times],

and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need.”

The Passion Translation says, ‘I have learned to be satisfied in any circumstance. I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.’

Can you be ‘satisfied’ or ‘content’ when it seems like [in the natural] everything around you is falling apart?

The answer is, absolutely, YES! The Apostle Paul was in prison facing extremely difficult circumstances and yet he was in joy, he was content, and he was satisfied and blessed. He said that he had ‘LEARNED’ how to be content and satisfied to the point where he was not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of his circumstances. Paul demonstrates to every believer that New Covenant inner peace, true satisfaction, contentment and joy are not subject to circumstances. True new Covenant satisfaction, joy, peace and contentment is achieved ‘in Christ’, through Christ and as a result on being one with Christ.

Paul said that he had ‘learned’ how to be content… what did he learn?

Philippians 4:13 gives us the answer… “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him [Christ] Who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]” (Philippians 4:13 AMP)

The word ‘Christ’ literally means the Anointed one and His Anointing. We can be content and satisfied regardless of circumstances when we live in the anointing of the anointed one.

The anointing of Jesus INFUSES grace, faith, joy, inner strength, satisfaction, contentment and confident inner peace. When you face persecution, challenges, trials or hardship, allow Jesus to infuse inner strength into you through the Holy Ghost… receive the anointing, the grace and the inner strength freely given to you through Christ, in Jesus Name! As you receive the anointing, receive joy unspeakable and full of glory, receive satisfaction and contentment and receive peace that surpasses all understanding right now, in Jesus Name!
