Today’s devotion is from Romans 8:26-28 (AMP)
‘The Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will. And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.’
The Lord does not condemn us for our weaknesses and our faults, The Father sends the Holy Spirit to come and help us in our weakness. Know that you are not alone in the areas that you are struggling with, in your shortcomings or in your weaknesses… know that you are not being judged or rejected by God for your failures, and know that not only is God not mad or disappointed in you, He is helping you right now to get stronger and wiser and He is infusing and imparting strength, ability and power to you right now.
Even when you don’t know how to pray, the Spirit Himself knows your need and at the right time He intercedes on your behalf in accordance with God’s will. As the Holy Ghost stands in the gap, He imparts favor, power, ability and wisdom into you, He commands His angels, He leads intercessors to pray and His powerful intersession causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for you and for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
The next time that you are going through a great trial, visualize the Holy Spirit standing in the gap, interceding for you, visualize Him commanding His angels and visualize the Holy Ghost turning everything around in your favor by His power. By you visualizing this, you are not just dreaming, you are making yourself aware and you are feeding your faith to the reality of what is going on in the realm of the spirit. With the Holy Spirit going to such lengths to stand in the gap and pray for us, we can be assured that victory in on it’s way! Glory be to God!
