You are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. "Once you had no identity; now you are God's people...”
You get a new identity the moment that you get born again...
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation! Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
You are not the same person that you used to be, you are not a better version of your old self, God did not fix you… He made you brand new! You are a child of God, made in the image of God with God’s attributes in Christ!
Old things are passed away
This means that you have a completely new identity. You are not an ex-alcoholic, an ex-drug addict, an ex-convict or an ex whatever… You are a Royal priest, God’s very own possession, holy, righteous, justified, acceptable in the sight of the beloved, full of grace and power.
As a new creature in Christ, do not refer to yourself in the light of who you used to be.
Family, until your mind is renewed and you know who you are in Christ, as long as you are still attached to the old man, you will not be free.
It’s time to break away, its time to walk in newness of life with a new identity, new nature, new outlook and a new attitude.
Make this confession…
“I AM A CHILD OF GOD
I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I AM A ROYAL PRIEST
I am Holy
I AM GOD’S VERY OWN POSSESSION
I have been made acceptable in the sight of the beloved”
You will immediately stop eating out of the garbage cans behind the palace the second that you find out that you are royalty!
From the moment you discover that you are of the king’s lineage you will immediately insist on eating at the king's table.
You will dress different, talk different, choose different friends, have different interests and live different.
