Today's devotion is from Hebrews 4:9-10
There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
BATTLES IN THE PLACE OF REST
When Israel entered their Promised Land which was a shadow and type of us as believers entering Jesus and becoming one with Him, even though they had entered into their promised rest, they still faced battles. In the same way, when we enter into our rest, as we rest in Jesus by grace through total trust and reliance on Him, we still face battles. The difference is that we do not have to fight, all we have to do is stand and then do what the Spirit leads us to do!
We are more that conquerors in Christ and He has already won each and every battle we may face. We can enter His rest and cease from our works and the reliance on our ability, we can stop relying on others, the economy and circumstances and rest in the fact that Jesus gives us everything we need to overcome!
So, even though there may be opposition to your mission, you already have victory in Christ. You do not fight FOR victory, you live FROM victory to victory. As the Lord said to Jehoshaphat, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
