Today's New Covenant nugget is from Mark 11:24

‘Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask [require / command] when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.’

Have the God kind of faith…

In Mark 11:14 Jesus cursed a fig tree for not bearing fruit by saying, “let no man ever eat fruit from you again.” The fig tree dried up from the roots. When Peter asks Jesus about the fig tree, Jesus begins to teach Peter and His disciples by saying, “have the faith of God,” or “have the God kind of faith.” (Mark 11:22)

Many translations translate what Jesus said this way… “Have faith in God.” The original Greek uses three words… ‘Echo Pistin Theou,’ meaning ‘Possess Faith God,’ so, it literally says ‘possess the faith of God’, or ‘have the God kind of faith... not, ‘have faith in God.’ Yes, we should always have faith in God, but that is not what Jesus was saying to His disciples when He was teaching them about FAITH in this passage.

It is very important to understand this, because in the following verses Jesus teaches us what the God kind of faith is and how to pray the prayer of faith.

The prayer of faith…

After Jesus tells His disciples to have the God kind of faith He continues to teach them…

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he SAYS will be done, he will have whatever he SAYS. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask [require / command] when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:23-24)

In the context, Jesus is teaching about faith… specifically ‘the PRAYER’ of faith…

The prayer of faith is not a prayer of petition, it is a prayer of declaring faith… speaking the Word of the Lord to things, circumstances and situations and then commanding them to manifest. The Greek word for ‘ask’ in this passage would be better translated ‘require, or command’ Jesus is not telling us to command God, He is telling us to command what we are saying to manifest. Faith declares and then faith commands and requires what was spoken according to the Word to manifest!

The prayer of faith speaks to the mountain, not about it!

Jesus did not say, “talk about the mountain,” Jesus said, “speak to the mountain.” Many believers either talk TO the Lord about problems, or they talk ABOUT the problems.

The prayer of faith is not a prayer that talks TO the Lord about things, it is a prayer that speaks TO the situation…

It is a prayer that speaks TO things by faith and calls those things that are not as though they were! (Romans 4:17) The prayer of faith KNOWS the will of God according to the Word of God and then speaks and requires and commands the known will of God by faith!

Speak TO sickness and command it to go, speak TO your body and require it to be whole and to be supernaturally healthy, speak TO your body and command it to be renewed on wings of eagles, require it to get younger and younger, not older and older! Speak TO your finances. Speak TO your challenges and problems… speak TO your future, your relationships, your mind, your emotions and your marriage.

Command and require depression to go, command health and joy and peace and prosperity and blessing and life to invade your universe, pray the prayer of faith as Jesus taught us, in Jesus Name!

Jesus said, believe you receive WHEN you pray… let your faith lay hold of what you are requiring AS you are praying. Visualize your faith being loaded up like a bus (in the spirit realm) AS you are praying… then let your faith continue to speak and to declare what it HAS until what you say is brought into manifestation.

In His amazing love, Nick
